A Technical talk was conducted by Civil Engineering Department, VJIT in association with IGS student chapter on 24th Feb 2023, by the speaker Dr. Hari Prasad, Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Dept. in Mahindra University, Hyderabad. The session is informative about the experiments conducted to know the properties of soil like core cutter method and sand replacement method and the NDT devices that can be used to know the properties of soil like Ground Penetrating Test were clearly explained by the speaker in the session. Applications of compaction and tests conducted, and reasons behind the failure of roads and pathways due to improper compaction were acknowledged by the speaker in the session which was informative. The session ended with engrossing information which was gained by final year students.

A One Day Webinar on “Legal Patent filing procedure in India” was organized by Civil Engineering department in association with IGS student chapter and the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on 7th January 2021. The Program intends to provide openings to Undergraduate students, Postgraduate students and Faculty members to enhance their skills in the area of Legal Patent filing procedure in India. The esteemed speaker Mrs. Pooja Kumar, Founder & Director, Innovate Intellects has elucidated the audience of VJIT with her enlightening oration on the Patent Filing Procedures and the Legal Policies involved while filing their research projects.
An online Technical Talk was organized by the Civil Engineering Department of VJIT in Association with IGS-student chapter on 9th April 2022, On Applications of Geophysical investigations for design & construction of infrastructure work -An Experience from Nuclear power plant structures. The speaker of the talk was Dr. G.Padmanabhan Who is currently working as Senior Scientist in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. HOD of Civil Engineering Department Dr.Pallavi Badry gave a brief introduction about the Speaker. The session covered about Exploration of Geophysical Investigation, advanced techniques for design of structures and selection of site with proper technical specifications and minimizes delay and cost over infrastructure projects. The talk was attended by several participating Engineers and students from different colleges in Telangana and also from IIT, NIT’s. The event was well moderated and concluded with vote of Thanks by Ms.Deepika (Assistant Professor) of Civil Engineering Department around 87 external participants took advantage of this event.
A poster presentation competition was conducted by Civil Engineering Department through "DELTA CLUB“ in association with IGS student chapter VJIT on the theme "WATER FOR FUTURE" On 29th March 2022. As Water is the second most important source on Earth. All the students actively participated and presented their posters. Hod of Civil Engineering Department Dr. Pallavi Badry, Dr.Kamalini Devi and other faculty members declared and announced 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners and congratulated all the students for their effort
A Workshop was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on “RURAL MANAGEMENT” on 19th March 2022, in Association with IGS Student Chapter. The speaker of the talk was Dr.Chethan Chittalkar, Director of MGNCRE, Hyderabad. The session was briefly addressed about Rural Management and also shared his experience with all the students participated in the workshop. Rural management program is to prepare students to become responsible members of community and implementing the ideas that can work for improving the rural landscape .Students enjoyed the workshop and also interacted with speaker. The faculty members felicitated the speaker Mr.chethan chittalkar and also thanked for sparing his valuable time with students.

A Four Week Online Internship programme was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology from September 15th to October 15th 2021 in association with ICI Knowledge Centre. Students from various colleges were invited to take part in this programme. Dr.Pallavi Badry, Head of Civil Engineering Department gave an introduction about the internship and the proceedings on Day 1.
Guest Lecturers from different colleges and faculty of Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology Mr.G. Srinath, , Dr Kamalinidevi, B Sathish Kumar, and Head Of the Department Dr Pallavi Badry has taken various sessions on different software like STAAD PRO, GEO5 and their applications, Designing concepts using this software. The major topics covered in this 15-day internship programme were developing a General Layout, Analytical Source of Structures and the basics of the STAAD PRO, Geostudio, and Check for Slope stability using GEO5 software, Remote sensing Concepts and applications. The internship was interactive and students got a good platform to know about various software and ways to explore them in the designing and construction field
The Student club of civil engineering DELTA in association with IGS student chapter organized an event “POWER OF WORDS IN GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING” On 13th Nov 2021, under the guidance of Head of the Department, Dr. Pallavi Badry. The president of Student chapter Induja along with Rishika and Uma Maheshwari final year students of civil engineering had briefed about some rules of the quiz and B.Tech. II Year, III Year and final years students of the Civil Engineering Department actively participated in this event as a part of this event word building games. On the basis of their score the top two were selected as the winners of the word building activity and distributed prizes for 3rd and 2nd year by the faculty coordinator Ms. Deepika along with the other faculty members. Finally, the event ended with the vote of thanks by faculty and the coordinators.
The Technical Talk on "CHALLENGES OF GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING FOR HIGH RISE BULIDINGS" was organized by the Civil Engineering Department @ Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on 1st Dec, 2021in association with IGS student chapter. The speaker of the talk was Er. E. Rakesh Reddy who is an eminent research scholar and Managing Director of EE construction services Hyderabad. The speaker was introduced by Dr.Pallavi Badry, Head of the Department. The session covered several geotechnical difficulties during constructions and after construction and session was ended with several technical queries as per project execution concern.
