The Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Mysuru Chapter was inaugurated on the 23rd of April 2023 comprising 50 dedicated life members of the Indian Geotechnical Society. The IGS Mysuru Chapter has set its sights on expanding its membership base to a total of 200 members, underlining its commitment to inclusivity and growth. 
The IGS Mysuru Chapter encompasses several districts in its purview, including Hassan, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Mandya, and Mysore. This wide geographic coverage ensures that the chapter serves as a hub for professionals and students interested in geotechnical engineering.
With its founding members and future aspirations, the IGS Mysuru Chapter is poised to become a vital platform for the exchange of ideas, research, and best practices in geotechnical engineering. Through seminars, workshops, conferences, and other educational initiatives, the IGS Mysuru Chapter aims to promote excellence and innovation in the field and ultimately benefit the local community by ensuring the safe and sustainable development of infrastructure projects.
