The Indian Geotechnical Society has made significant contribution to the development of geotechnical engineering in the country. The activities of the Society have been extended manifold over the years towards fulfilling the objectives of the International Society.

As Local Chapters are the backbone of our Society, more technical activities are being planned to keep abreast of global developments in geotechnical engineering as outlined in our vision document for the new millennium.
